I’ve been involved in sport my whole life, having grown up as a basketball player, I represented at the state level throughout school. It was at university in Brisbane that I found CrossFit and fell in love with the style of training and the community that came with it. I’ve always been attracted to the competitive side of CrossFit and I even qualified for Sanctions way back in 2011. At the time, Sanctions as the “representative” level of competition for CrossFit (which later evolved into Regionals and then later again to Sanctions). Along the way, I’ve become a Coach, a business owner, and a mother of two. My training goals have shifted away from being competitive, and more towards keeping up my fitness and strength … and basically getting in my training sessions when I can.
Life can be challenging. Being a female, and trying to stay in shape, while dealing with life, has its challenges. I always say that my husband (and males in general) has it much easier when it comes to losing weight, gaining muscle, and keeping off the excess! But he will tell you otherwise! In reality, it comes down to our priorities, being a mum, a business owner, a coach, all just adds another element to the complexity! THIS is where I have found my passion. To help other women and mothers be happy with their training goals, their development, and their journey. To lead by example and show that regardless of what life throws at you, we can do it - and have fun while doing it!
I want to help people. I want to give everyone a space that they want to come to, and a community where they feel they belong! When I first started CrossFit, I was new to Brisbane, I didn't know anyone, and the gym I joined gave me a community and outlet that helped me in more ways than I could imagine at the time. That is exactly what I want to provide with The Dungeon to each and every member of ours. What I love about coaching is that I can see that we are making a difference in people's lives, daily, weekly, monthly, and over the years!
